Norway’s dramatic landscapes never fail to impress

This particular cruise itinerary incorporates many of Norway’s most interesting towns and cities, and lets you explore them in unique ways on a selection of optional shore excursions. Not only do fjords of Norway cruises let you delve into the history and culture of coastal living in these extreme parts of the world, you will also get the chance to witness some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth. Every so often the rugged cliffs give way to gaping fjords that are bound by vertical valley sides, and towering mountains impose themselves upon you in a most humbling way. Sea eagles can be seen soaring high above, and you may be lucky enough to witness some of the various species of whale that often frequent these icy waters.

Fjords of Norway cruises have a really relaxed feel to them, and the atmosphere on board the ship is friendly and informal. You can head out on deck to watch the breathtaking scenery, or you can rest in the comfort of the ship’s Panorama Lounge and gaze through the enormous windows. On this Norwegian cruise in summer you can witness the Midnight Sun beaming down on the stunning landscapes around the clock, meaning that you never miss a moment of the breathtaking views. Norway’s dramatic landscapes never fail to impress - Explore Bergen

The charming city is encompassed by several imposing mountains, one of which has a funicular railway running from the city centre to its summit. At the top you will be impressed by the magnificent views of the city and the surrounding fjords. The Bryggen area of the city has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site based on its historical importance, being the place where the old Hanseatic merchants used to operate. Board the ship this evening and begin your fjords of Norway cruise.

Take a guided tour of the city, visit the colourful harbour area and learn about its dramatic history. Later, fjords of Norway cruises continue to Geirangerfjord, one of the most famous fjords in the world. • Day 3 - Trondheim

    Trondheim

Today fjords of Norway cruises arrive at the medieval city of Trondheim. As fjords of Norway cruises weave in and out of the scattered Lofoten Islands, guests may spot that one island houses a stunning monument of a globe. Today on fjords of Norway cruises you can choose to go on a RIB safari to witness majestic sea eagles, or visit the world’s strongest maelstrom at Saltstraumen.

The Arctic Cathedral is one of the most famous buildings in these parts, and its contemporary design really stands out. The older Tromsø Cathedral is also worth a visit, being Norway’s only cathedral built from wood. While you are here on fjords of Norway cruises, take the cable car to the top of Mount Storsteinen for impressive views of the Arctic landscapes.
